Welcome to the second session on ‘Kafka Internals’.
Now, Vishwa will talk about the concepts being covered as part of this session.
In this session
You will understand the following concepts that will be part of this session:
- Topics and partitions: You will understand the concept of topics and learn how they are divided into partitions to store the messages.
- Producers: You will understand that producer are responsible for writing messages to the topics.
- Consumers and consumer groups: Consumers are responsible for reading the messages present inside a topic. You will also understand the concept of consumer groups.
- Rebalancing: You will understand what happens when a consumer leaves or when a new consumer joins the consumer group.
- Topic replication: You will learn how topics are replicated across different brokers to maintain fault tolerance.
